Health and Fitness Club Feedback
Lots of great classes to pick from including virtual classes so you can do the class you like at a time that suits you.
Nice to find a clean place too. Yes it more expensive than other gyms but you can do a joint membership with a friend to make it more affordable.
The swimming pool is amazing and I look forward to trying the squash and badminton .
Super teachers and the only Gym you will need.
I love the virtual studio and use it far more than I ever used the original studio so personally think it's a huge improvement to the club. Am also enjoying the Queenax class on a Tuesday at 5.30 with Sarah (?). No two weeks are the same and she is a really good instructor - the right balance of encouragement and understanding!!!
I must sat a big thank you to you and the team. Joining the club this January has made a big impact in my life, hopefully my health and general wellbeing. You are obviously proud of the facility and keep trying to improve it. Maintaining the balance of needs from young to old members an obvious challenge. Your pricing is flexible and affordable. The club must make a profit and members must get value for money. You have got this just right I believe.
I have enjoyed the challenge of starting the process of getting fitter, at about retirement age it's a process that needs care. The combination of Preva and Myzone provide both competition and a layer of safety. Your staff, the experienced trainers are a great source of knowledge. I benefited from two sessions of intro so far and got great tips seeing others getting to learn the ropes.
My ideal of cardio, strength building, swimming and a relax in the sauna is accomplished at this one stop shop. Also I met some lovely people who are also trying to get fitter or maintain a good level of fitness. So refreshing to know it's not just me that needs more than a walk to the paper shop or planting spuds.
For those taking up the great Myzone try and buy offer in February, go for it. It's amazing. Not a heart rate monitor, this is some sort of mobile integrated health monitoring system. Plus a motivator.
Looking forward to whatever you folk have in mind next. Joining up Priva, Myzone and the inbody measuring system data seems to be the key. Data from inbody uploaded to Myzone. Myzone acting as the Priva card to set cardio kit?
Meanwhile please pass my thanks to those at Beechdown for being so friendly.
I've joined the Beechdown fantasy footie league now- thanks!
Also, I've been meaning to email to say just how happy I am at Beechdown - I've never managed to stick with a gym so long before. Huge credit to the trainers, the approach they all take is great and they're all so supportive, and Heather is brilliant too. My son is also a HUGE fan of Dani and Vicky at Beehive, he's forever asking to go.
I joined Beechdown in Feb this year, but I wanted to say a few things about my experience.
Returning to exercise after over a decade of sloth and very overweight was a challenge but the support and positive attitude displayed by all your staff has been really amazing. The first class I tried was Zumba - OMG what was I thinking - my heart had such a shock but the laughter and encouragement of Sarah was totally infectious. I then tried Body Pump and would have walked right out as it's very intimidating to see a room full of equipment and very fit folks but Sue grabbed me, helped me and told me to stay. It's still a brutal class for me but I'm so grateful that she encouraged me to try. The gym team have also been so encouraging with the In Body analysis - brilliant - it is harsh to see the dire state of your body in black and white print!
After the first Zumba class I decided to invest in a MyZone monitor - that was a great decision! It allows me to monitor my heart and become more aware of how hard it is having to work - seeing that in RED gave me the focus to lose weight and really take control of my health. It's a brilliant tool.
But it's not just the staff and equipment - the general friendliness and peer encouragement has been superb so you must be doing something right! Doubtless there are things that could be better - there always are - but you must be doing something right to turn a couch potato into an enthusiastic member. Please pass my thanks on to all your team for helping me to get back on track in such a positive, friendly and enjoyable way. It's so hard to start and you are easily put off by the wrong attitude or a negative comment. Your team got it spot on!
Pool refurbishment, is wonderful, so modern, fresh, relaxing and a joy to swim everyday. Well done for keeping everyone updated and for reopening on the date that was planned. I'm so impressed and with all the other new facilities in and around the gym. A massive well done!
Ed and the wonderful Beechdown team
It is a year since I joined and I am terribly impressed by the facilities on offer, the amazing improvements made, the new innovations introduced and the support from your friendly and professional team.
Like many others I tested your refurbished pool yesterday – nothing short of stunning. It was warm, welcoming and after a couple of months on dry land – very enjoyable. It will again add a nice dimension to the post gym workout.
In this last year I met some of my personal goals, some weight reduction (but not enough yet) and a big improvement in fitness and energy. The biggest payback though is the environment at Beechdown, I made some new friends and enjoyed being part of it. So thanks you and the team
Thanks for a great class timetable. All the instructors are brilliant and I love the classes especially the Les Mills ones. Also the spin classes are great and all the gym instructors do a fantastic job.
Just a quick note to say how fabulous the recent America and Chicken nights have been! Outstanding food! Thank you!
I attended your last postnatal course and didn't manage to say a big thank you to Sue and the team in the nursery who were superb!
I am returning to work shortly and will then be back in touch with yourselves in order to join. Tina really inspired me to continue so I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who made the experience so worthwhile.
I have just been to the last cardio-tennis session for this year and wanted to say thank you and well done to Steph for her patience and outstanding tuition.
I am returning to the game after many years and she has helped me regain an enthusiasm I thought was gone. She is a credit to your team.
My husband Arthur and I have been members for about 20 years and I don’t usually pass many comments – moans or compliments. However I have recently been really impressed by Paul’s team in the gym. The whole team are very friendly and approachable and have an attitude of wanting to help not just show off their muscles!
Tina offered us some help one quiet Sunday afternoon and showed us some really useful exercises. Alex’s talks on nutrition have been very good and I recently signed-up for Dave Lilly’s Bio Sig weight loss programme. He has been excellent – really clear with his direction, very supportive and encouraging. He has linked the diet to training in the gym and it is really starting to make a difference for me. At 52 I didn’t expect to be doing the sort of weight training I did at 20!
